    Texas scored just five runs in the series to lose 4-3, 2-1, and 4-1. The Rangers are now a season high 33 games under .500 at 53-86 and 30.5 games out of first place. Texas has all but kissed fourth place in the division good-bye as they trail Houston by 7.5 games with 23 to play, and Colorado is 2.5 games ahead of the Rangers in the battle to avoid having the worst record in baseball.

    With Soria’s departure, Neftali Feliz becomes the Rangers’ closer. Feliz is only bullpen hand with closing experience as he was the Rangers’ closer in the World Series years of 2010 and 2011. Texas shifted him to the starting rotation in 2012 which led to Tommy John surgery that summer. He has been slow to recover since returning last season.

    Speculation in the trade market has two possible big names available for a block buster trade – Tampa Bay’s left-hander David Price and Miami outfielder Giancarlo Stanton. Needless to say, both would look really nice in a Rangers’ uniform. It is actually quite likely that Price gets traded by the financially strapped Rays.
