Oklahoma State Football Ticket Sales Reach Record Numbers
Coming off the best season in school history, Oklahoma State director of sales and marketing, Adam Barnes, announced on Twitter this morning that the school has broken its public football season ticket sales record for the second consecutive year and could reach 50,000 total sold (public and students) by kickoff on Sept. 1.
As of Monday afternoon, OSU had sold 36,668 public tickets, surpassing last year’s mark of 36,651.
The previous record for public and student tickets sold was 48,714, which was set last season before the Cowboys captured their first Big 12 title and a dramatic overtime victory over Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl.
OSU has currently sold 4,561 student tickets. But this week students can move into on-campus housing classes begin next Monday, which means those sales should see an increase. Barnes said he expects between 12,500 to 13,000 student tickets to be sold
Season tickets sales have, understandably, increased along with the Cowboys’ rise to one of the nation’s best programs over the past four seasons. In 2008, OSU sold less than 40,000 total season tickets.
