Former Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Jimmy Johnson returns to town to address the SMU Athletic Forum
Former NCAA and NFL head football coach Jimmy Johnson was the key-note speaker at this week’s SMU Athletic Forum. Johnson was the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys from 1989-1993. While in Dallas, Johnson led the Cowboys to two World Championships and was the first football coach to win a NCAA Division 1A National Championship and a Super Bowl. Johnson finished his Cowboys career with 44 wins, which is still second all-time in Cowboys history for victories by a Head Coach (Tom Landry).
Currently, Johnson is an analyst for the NFL on Fox, a Sunday morning NFL preview show that he hosts along side Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long.
He resides in a beachfront home in the Florida Keys, which he says he rarely leaves. Before addressing the audience, Johnson spent a few minutes with the Dallas media answering questions about SMU, the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett, Dez Bryant and other topics of interest.
